The 2.2 litre 150PS diesel engine, fitted to TD4 models is available with a six-speed automatic transmission with CommandShift® as an option. The unit delivers CO2 emissions of 185g/km and economy of 7.0l/100km on the EU combined cycle. The turbocharged engine delivers 420Nm of torque.

Freelander 2 HSE is a pleasure to drive on-road and off-road, delivering agile handling and outstanding ride comfort. The well appointed interior is exemplified by the choice of grained leather seat facings with six-way driver (with three memory settings for the driver’s seat and exterior mirrors) and four-way passenger electric adjustment. Choose between four different fascia finishes including the optional Grand Black Lacquer finisher. There is an Alpine™ audio system, and the option of the Premium Pack which includes softer, more supple Windsor leather seats with eight-way driver and six-way passenger electric adjustment. Also available is DVD satellite navigation, Bluetooth® connectivity and a panoramic sunroof.

INTERIOR FEATURES

Freelander 2’s premium interiors offer a great choice of options and materials, including soft, supple Windsor leather seats as part of the Premium Pack. It also provides space in abundance thanks to generous head, shoulder and legroom. What's more, everyone can enjoy the view with stadium seating putting rear seats 50mm higher than the front seats. Rear seats split 60/40 (for a more versatile loadspace).

DRIVING AND TRANSMISSION

All models with the 2.2 litre 150PS diesel engine with six-speed manual transmission feature an intelligent Stop/Start system as standard. While the six-speed automatic transmission with CommandShift® (optional on the 150PS TD4 and standard on the 190PS SD4 diesel and 233PS i6 petrol engines) offers optimum driveability as well as manual sequential gear changes and a driver selectable sport mode.

    Independent suspension delivers superb on-road dynamics with handling that is both rewarding and responsive, as well as a ride that is comfortable whatever the surface.
